The Short Version: We only use Strictly Necessary cookies. We do not use tracking, advertising, or marketing cookies. Your data, and your child's data, is never tracked across the web.

Because Orcanomics serves K-12 students, we strictly limit our use of cookies. We deploy only those cookies that are technically essential to make our educational platform function safely and securely.
We use secure session cookies to identify when a user logs in. Most importantly, these cookies securely identify the Role of the user (e.g., Student, Parent, or School Admin). This ensures that a Student account cannot access parental controls, payment information, or restricted administrative areas.
Orcanomics utilizes an adaptive Artificial Intelligence (AI) model to generate custom quizzes and lessons. Because this feature involves processing an anonymized academic snapshot, it is strictly locked behind a Verifiable Parental Consent (VPC) wall.
We use encrypted, temporary cookies to maintain the state of the VPC flow. This ensures that the AI feature remains securely locked unless a verified Parent Account has explicitly granted consent for that specific session. Once the session ends, this VPC state cookie is securely cleared.
We use cookies to prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks, protect user data, and ensure that all requests sent to our servers originate from legitimate, logged-in Orcanomics users.
In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA), Orcanomics explicitly does not use:
